Artist Focus: Chinese Sculptor Zhang Yong

For Zhang Yong, a Chinese sculptor born in Beijing in 1971, art is the product of one’s experience and spiritual cultivation, which at the same time, will affect people’s spiritual world. He experiences life sincerely and patiently, embracing new changes in life but never avoiding  old expressions that have remained a constant since ancient times.

Our manager, Simon Chong, was deeply moved by Zhang Yong’s lyrical, symbolic, situational and expressive meanings in his sculptures. From the expression of "emotion" in his early works to "realm", he slowly shifted from the material to the spiritual level. Adding to the unrestrained poetic expression of the space, Simon’s team implemented Zhang’s work “Ren Xiaoyao” into his Chengdu Dongsan Jinmao Villa project, skillfully complementing the elegant design of the room.
