Shenzhen Villa|China
21,500 sqft
Under the expert direction of Simon Chong Design Consultants, this home of a young couple born in the 90’s evokes more contemporary glamour and style than many mansions in Beverly Hills. Encompassing fine furniture and accessories from brands such as Gallotti&Radice, Baxter, Henge, and over a dozen pieces by top artists, the home all at once offers a vivid glimpse into the homeowners elevated aesthetic and appreciation to art and culture.
Dealing with a square footage exceeding 20,000 square feet was no small feat, thus the design team focused on creating an elegant, comfortable atmosphere throughout the space, drawing a balance between the different arenas and creating subtle changes in the small details to correspond with each other. Taking a poetic approach to the starting point of creation, the designers have conceived a home that is "quiet when entering and prosperous when leaving", to demonstrate an interesting, meaningful lifestyle. The design team is knowledgeable on the virtues of material selection, as well as the spiritual tastes of sophisticated clientele, which comes into effect via the elegant luxurious aesthetic dictating the space.
Large floor-to-ceiling windows seamlessly open the space to introduce the scenery into the rooms, as well as allow the space to demonstrate its own soul. The flow of a well planned home is often crucial and this stunning villa embodies just the right balance to coexist in harmony with the architecture, light and nature. The spatial structure of the home also deliberately reduces moving lines, allowing the textured layers of different materials to interplay while the division of the space has been cleverly done to intertwine form and function. Balancing the integration of nature and preserving the owners privacy with adequate social spaces has also been well considered. Leisure arenas in the villa take on a more restrained design approach, where attention has been drawn to the pure essence of lines and proportions. With neutral grey furnishings as a base, marble, stone, warm dark brown wood veneer together with sculptural lamps and lanterns all combine to showcase classical beauty that is modern and minimalistic. Many works of art curated for the home respond to the lifestyle and taste of the owner, promoting the exchange and collision of ideas and cultures, and bring the most heartfelt joy to the residents, where they can enjoy a truly stunning home.
