Inside a Commercial Space that Can Coexist with People

Creating a deep cultural resonance

When we took over the design project of the Ziwei Eco-city Marketing Center in Xi'an, China, Simon Chong, aimed at an "integration of things and myself" to create a commercial space that can coexist with people.

The entrance to the front hall is first set with an abstract and dreamy blue decorative painting as the background, which together with the black and white parquet floor creates a delightful contrast. Art is used to describe spatial aesthetics, to present the combination of Chinese calligraphy and painting, to strike a balance between movement and stillness and to convey the concept of life that interprets modern art. Not only does this inject visual focus into the marketing centre from a business-friendly perspective, but it helps to establish emotional connections with users of the space, to create a deep cultural resonance.
