The works of artist Eduardo Guelfenbein are celebrated for their vibrant colors and flowing brushstrokes, imbued with rhythm and vitality. Inspired by this artistic expression, our manager Simon Chong has skillfully integrated Guelfenbein’s artistic language into our space design, enhancing emotional depth and visual tension
Eduardo Guelfenbein, a Chilean artist born in 1953, is renowned for his thick brushstrokes and bold color palettes. His paintings create a dance of interlaced light and shadow, characterized by distinct layers that pulsate with energy, reminiscent of the flow of galaxies. The pigments rise and fall like undulating hills and valleys, evoking rich emotions and radiating a joyful rhythm akin to a cosmic explosion. What may appear as spontaneous brushstrokes are, in fact, meticulously arranged color rhythms that form a dynamic visual field filled with light and movement.
For interior designer Simon Chong, Guelfenbein’s paintings represent a spatial language that guides emotions and stimulates the senses. Simon reflects: “I have always believed that space is for feeling, not just for viewing. Guelfenbein’s works are rich in emotions and rhythms. Each encounter with them prompts me to rethink the possibilities of design. Sometimes, a painting can narrate the story of a home better than words, igniting the occupants’ imagination about life.”
